To ensure all guests are staying where they feel most comfortable, we will not have a wedding room block at a hotel. Downtown Salem has so many unique (and historic) accommodations that we know you'll love! We have compiled a list of some that are in the heart of our beloved community and near all the wedding festivities. Please book your accommodations ASAP as Salem in June is a buzzing place! 1. <a href="https://www.hawthornehotel.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hawthorne Hotel</a>: In the center of Salem, you'll find the Hawthorne Hotel which is on the National Register of Historic places. This 1925 building exudes New England historic elegance with close proximity to the Salem Commons (our personal favorite spot), the Peabody Essex Museum and the waterfront. Watch out! You may encounter some ghosts on the 6th floor! 2. <a href="https://www.larkhotels.com/hotels/the-hotel-salem" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Hotel Salem </a>: Along the brick and cobblestones of Essex Street, The Hotel Salem is a boutique hotel with the best roof top view of the city (seriously, get a drink at The Roof and admire the city). The Hotel Salem is filled with color, great burgers and is a close walk to all things fun. 3. <a href="https://salemwaterfronthotel.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Salem Waterfront</a>: Right by the water, the Salem Waterfront Hotel is in a prime location for just about everything. A pool for the kiddos (and the mother of the bride) too! 4. <a href="https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/bossahx-hampton-inn-salem-boston/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hampton Inn Salem Boston</a>: Not historic, but surely convenient and still in the mix of things (has a pool too!). 6. Other options in downtown Salem include: The Cove Hotel, The Salem Inn, The Merchant 7. Feel free to consider Airbnb's/ Vrbo's as well! To get the most that a trip to Salem has to offer, we encourage all guests to stay in the downtown area. If you are looking for locations to stay outside of the Salem area, but still nearby, take a peak at towns such as Beverly, Marblehead, Peabody and Danvers. In order to properly celebrate our marriage, family is coming in from across the country and the other side of the world! While the wedding is small but mighty, the distance travelled to get there will not be. Luckily, Salem is a short train distance from Boston and is conveniently located on Massachusetts' Commuter Rail system. From Boston Logan Airport, take the Massport Shuttle to Airport Station on the Blue Line (subway). Ride the Blue Line inbound (towards Bowdoin) and get off at State Street Station. From there, transfer to the Orange Line (Oak- Grove bound) for one stop to North Station. North Station is where you will take the Newburyport/Rockport train line to Salem. If you want to download the MBTA app you can, or you can buy tickets at North Station or with the conductors on the train. Once the train arrives at the Salem train station, you have already arrived downtown! All hotels listed on the accommodation page are a walking distance from the Salem train station. For those traveling by car, check to see if your hotel has overnight parking. If they do not, there are many garages and lots to park. The best option would be the Museum Place Garage where overnight parking is allowed. For the guests eager to spend time on the water, our favorite mode of transportation from Boston to Salem is through the ferry. From Logan airport, take the Blue Line shuttle bus from your terminal to Airport Station. Ride the Blue Line inbound toward Bowdoin and getting off at Aquarium Station. Walk for 2-3 minutes from Aquarium Station to Long Wharf where the Salem Ferry departs. This transportation option is more expensive than the train, but nothing beats the views.
